Wappa by Paradise Seeds

Strawberry jam over an old skunk backbone, from a plant that rarely tops a metre and still fills the space.

Paradise Seeds has never published Wappa's parents. Luc Krol's team describe a line with sweet skunk running through it, refined by keeping the biggest and juiciest plants in each generation, and it has become one of the house's most requested strains. It remains a Paradise classic.

Expect a fresh, fruity bouquet of strawberry and ripe cherry, with a skunky edge that sharpens when the buds are broken. The breeder names myrcene, caryophyllene and linalool as the leading terpenes, and smokers report a mild, sweet draw.

The breeder's description is happy and energetic: an intense buzz that never tips into too much, light enough for daytime and easy into the evening. Paradise notes it is popular with medical users, and growers mention it for body ache and unwinding, with some finding heavier phenotypes properly couch-bound.

Wappa grows stout, sturdy and bushy, with a high calyx to leaf ratio, a thick main cola and plenty of side buds that dry hard and compact. Breeder figures are 55 to 60 days of flower, around 550 g/m² indoors and up to 700 g a plant outdoors, with an early October finish in the north. It takes topping well and is not fussy about feeding, which is why it suits small rooms.

Paradise Seeds has been breeder-owned since Luc Krol founded it in Amsterdam in 1994, and Wappa sits alongside Sensi Star and Dutch Dragon in its long-running catalogue.
