The name comes from the CIA's notorious 1950s LSD experiments, and the breeder chose it on purpose: this is a strain sold on the word hypnotic.
T.H. Seeds crossed the G-13 of underground legend with LA's OG Kush and got one of the defining indicas of the early 2000s. MK-Ultra is still one of the two lines the house is best known for.
The smell is thick and pungent, woody and earthy, but the pine is what stays with you: a resinous flavour that lingers long after the exhale. Users also pick out lemon peel and old-fashioned hash.
The onset is immediate and almost trance-like, and some users feel a brief coffee-like kick before the indica takes hold. From there it is relaxed, happy and hungry, then sleepy, and medical users report it for pain, stress and restless nights.
MK-Ultra grows short, narrow and straight, at 100 to 120 cm, and finishes in 8 to 9 weeks. The breeder's yield figure is a modest 350 g per square metre, made up of tight, round, golf-ball buds that are slick with resin. Growers note two short, fast, indica-leaning phenotypes, and the plant suits topping or a sea of green.
