Short, fat and built for the dark hours, Night Shade puts two Himalayan hash lines into one squat indica.
Barney's Farm bred it from Kashmir Kush and a Nepalese landrace, both from the mountain country where hand-rubbed charas has been made for generations, and kept it firmly on the indica side. It has been retired from the breeder's list, which makes a sealed pack a real find.
The breeder describes a sweet, pine-scented bud. Smokers pick up cool mint and an earthy, slightly gassy depth behind the pine.
The breeder's own words for the effect are classic indica, heavy and stoney, and users describe a slow build into deep relaxation that ends on the sofa. It belongs to the late evening, and users most often mention it for winding down from stress and for restless nights.
In the garden it stays low: breeder figures give 50 to 55 cm indoors, with a plant that fills out wide rather than tall, an obvious match for small spaces and short ceilings. Flowering runs about 55 to 65 days, with an optimum of around 550 g/m² indoors and an outdoor finish at the end of September.
