Two of Amsterdam's most storied mothers in one pack: the purple-black Lavender that took a Cannabis Cup, and a True OG Kush plant Soma had guarded for years.
Lavender began in the late nineties as a selection called Soma Skunk No. 10, renamed once growers kept seeing its leaves turn deep purple, almost black at the tips. It won the Indica category at the 2005 High Times Cannabis Cup. Lavender OG came later, when a grower friend of Soma's reversed that kept True OG Kush female and crossed her with Lavender. It went on to place third for best indica at Amsterdam's Clouds in the City Cup, with its water hash taking second.
Soma describes a distinct taste, lavender and OG side by side, and says it comes through most clearly in the hash. Expect the spicy, Afghani-hash perfume of the Lavender line set against Kush.
The breeder publishes no effect notes for this exact cross. Its Lavender parent is sold as an evening or rainy-day smoke with a heavy body and an alert edge, and at 70% indica Lavender OG sits on the same side of the line.
Soma rates it as not hard to grow. Their one grower tip is to supercrop the main top, after which the side tops catch up quickly. It flowers in 9 to 10 weeks, indoors or out, for a breeder minimum of 35 to 40 grams.
