Ripe mango with dirt still on the skin: that is how Soma frames the smell of this one, and it is hard to improve on.
Somango Pineapple takes Soma's fruit-forward Somango, a line with Big Skunk Korean and Jack Herer in its history, and crosses it back into Lavender #1, the purple plant that won the 2005 Cannabis Cup. The aim was a terpene-rich indica, and the breeder says that is what came out.
The nose is sugary and tangy, close to real mango with an earthy twist. Smoked, it turns fruity on the palate with mango and a note of banana.
Soma describes a very heavy body high and a serious case of the munchies. Medical users report reaching for it for minor aches, headaches, muscle spasms and stress, and the breeder adds, with a straight face, severe boredom.
Plants stay small and bushy, which makes them a natural fit for a sea of green. The breeder notes that it copes with colder nights, but warns that the dense, trichome-thick buds do not like heavy rain outdoors. Soma's own grower notes call for regular trimming in flower and generous CalMag. It finishes in 9 to 10 weeks for a breeder minimum of 35 to 40 grams, and the resin makes it a good candidate for hash.
