Great White Shark by Green House Seed Co.

Take the White Widow line, cross it with a hand-picked Super Skunk, and you get the shark: short, fat and coated in frost.

Green House made it by pairing a selected Super Skunk with the Brazilian and South Indian genetics behind White Widow. It remains one of the breeder's old-school pillars, with dozens of other breeders' lines built on it since.

The Super Skunk side lays sweetness and a herbal edge over Widow's earthier base, and the smoke runs earthy, sweet and lightly fruity. Some growers pick up lemon or pineapple in their jars.

This is a body strain first. The breeder calls it very strong, stoned and long-lasting, though the head stays clearer than the weight in the limbs suggests, and Green House lists pain relief among its reported medical uses.

Plants stay short and bushy with plenty of branches, which suits sea of green or a screen, and they take medium to high feeding in their stride. Most indoor growers cut at around 65 days, but the breeder says an extra week brings more resin and a sweeter taste. Outdoor plants reach 150 to 190 cm, and the light green buds finish dense with orange pistils, so growers keep humidity low late in bloom.

The shark comes from Green House Seed Co., co-founded in Amsterdam in 1994 by Arjan Roskam and Scott Blakey.
