Cole Train is old California in a six-seed pack: a Humboldt local built from a 1990s haze cut and a Trainwreck male.
DNA Genetics released it through Reserva Privada, its private reserve line, crossing Jasmine, a mid-1990s Super Silver Haze hybrid, with the T4 Trainwreck male. The pairing gave a big-yielding plant that finishes early for its haze blood.
Grapefruit, roasted chestnut and black tea come off the flowers, then earth and cracked pepper on the palate. The breeder calls the flavour old-world Colombian with a Super Silver Haze edge, a profile that has grown scarce in dessert-heavy modern catalogues.
Growers describe a strongly uplifting high, the haze side showing clearly despite the plant's indica-leaning listing, which suits it to daytime. Reports on strength vary, with outdoor harvests rated well above indoor ones.
This is a tough plant that tolerates marginal conditions and resists mould, which goes some way to explaining its outdoor record. It is a hungry feeder, can get large, and frosts up quickly once the pistils show. The breeder gives 8 to 9 weeks of flowering and a high yield, put at around 400 to 500 g/m².
