Two Californian heavyweights share this pack: the original Trainwreck and the Salmon Creek Big Bud.
Caboose began as a well-known cut from California. Strain Hunters spent years testing it, then reversed and selfed it to fix the plant into stable feminised seed. The breeder puts it at 70% indica.
The nose is an odd and memorable one: Chinese oranges and spring blossom up front, then a salty, almost metallic pungency that the breeder traces to the Big Bud side. The smoke follows suit, chemical and mineral with a floral finish.
It opens fast and trippy, then sinks slowly into a heavy, narcotic calm, so the breeder points it at films and the hour before bed rather than work or creative jobs. It is reported to stir the appetite and lift apathy.
Plants grow compact, with internodes under 5 cm and wide side branching, which the breeder rates as a good filler for a full room. Buds take the irregular shape of Trainwreck with the bulk and density of Big Bud, set with large, round calyxes in purple and red under very white resin. Expect about eight weeks of flower and up to 0.9 g per watt indoors; very large outdoor plants can pass 1 kg and need their branches supported.
