Bubble Gum by T.H. Seeds

Before T.H. Seeds sold anything else, it sold this: Bubblegum was the company's first release in 1993, and three decades later the house still builds new crosses on it.

The line descends from Indiana Bubblegum, an American cut, which T.H. Seeds inbred into a stable IBL selected for a fruity smell, a thick flavour that lingers and a short, squat frame. By the breeder's account, other seed companies have used it to make hybrids of their own.

The smell is what the name promises: pink chewing gum with ripe berries behind it, and the breeder also notes a floral sweetness that hangs on the palate.

The breeder describes a happy, euphoric lift with a relaxed head, and one indoor grower reports an effect that is strong and long-lasting. Its breeder notes also list stress, low appetite, aches and headaches among the reasons medical users reach for it.

Mostly indica, it stays compact at 120 to 160 cm and breeds true, which is exactly why other breeders prize it as a parent. The breeder gives 55 to 60 days of flowering for 350 to 500 g per square metre, indoors or out. Growers report dense, hard buds and a better than average ratio of bud to leaf, so trimming is quick work.

Robert C. Clarke called T.H. Seeds Europe's first seed shop, and the Amsterdam house has been breeding since 1993.
