Soma took a modern 4G cut and folded in his Cup-winning Lavender OG for one reason: to make it smell and taste better.
The 4G base, Gelato #45 crossed with Gorilla Glue #4 and Girl Scout Cookies, was first bred by Purple Caper Seeds and named for its G-heavy parentage. Adding Lavender OG gave Soma the fifth G and the name, and pulled the plant to 80% indica.
On the nose it reads as Gorilla Glue softened by hints of Lavender OG, with a sweet and sour Afghani flavour. The breeder notes a smaller scent radius than straight Glue, a real advantage where smell travels.
The breeder describes a very euphoric high that settles into a balanced, relaxed calm, pleasant rather than overwhelming. Reported uses lean towards lifting mood and bringing back appetite, which suits it to the evening.
Growers get big, easy, resilient plants that stack tight colas, heavy to moderate in yield, with Soma setting a minimum of 50 to 60 g. Flowering runs 8 to 10 weeks on the breeder's spec, most plants finishing in 8 to 9, indoors or out. The flowers finish photogenic, which matters as much to the collector's camera as to the jar.
