Named with a nod to Erykah Badu, Orange Moon is the cross a cannabis journalist who sampled the whole Black Amber line singled out as its likely winner.
The mother is Ice Cream Man #5, reported as Orange Apricot x Jet Fuel Gelato. The father is Black Amber, a GMO-dominant funk line once called High Fructose Corn Syrup, picked for structure, colour, resin and a complex nose. Compound Genetics promises bold, productive plants and a wide spread of phenotypes.
That spread runs from a fresh fruit bowl to a jar of boiled sweets, with bright citrus and tropical notes, while some plants carry the sharp, piney Jack character of terpinolene. One sampled phenotype, #2, came across as fruit punch with an orange and cream ice lolly finish.
Effects follow the phenotype. Number 2 was described as racy and energising, close to a sativa, while #44 sat mellower; growers more broadly report a focused lift and a calm body, and some mention it for stress.
Veg runs at an average pace, indoors or out. Expect vibrant plants with strong bag appeal, colour that shifts with selection and environment, and heavy yields across most phenotypes. Flowering takes eight to nine weeks, and the breeder has not published THC.
