Named for the weeping woman of Mexican folklore, La Llorona opens soft and sweet, then reveals something heavier once it settles in the jar.
It is one of the newer crosses from Compound's Black Amber line. Black Amber began as a Full Moon Genetics cross of GMO and OZ Kush Bx2, once called High Fructose Corn Syrup, before Compound reversed a favourite plant and renamed it after a dark plum. Here that pollen meets Devil Driver, a Sundae Driver x Melonade hybrid, which gives the cross its structure and a more resinous, penetrating base.
Expect sweet perfume and gentle florals up front, a finish that lingers, and a loud seam of heavy gas on the back end.
Compound has not published effect notes and grower reports are still few. With GMO and OZ Kush on one side and Sundae Driver on the other, a potent, body-leaning hybrid is the likely reading, though that comes from the family rather than the breeder.
Most phenotypes take after Devil Driver: tight internodes, even stacking and dense flowers with a good bud to leaf ratio. The breeder notes strong colour potential and a solid layer of trichomes, with flowering at eight to nine weeks, average veg time and a medium to high yield, indoors or out.
