Catalogue number SWS01: Black Jack is where the Sweet Seeds list begins, and it kept collecting trophies for a decade.
The breeder paired its elite clone of Black Domina '98, a heavy Afghani and Northern Lights line, with an elite Jack Herer cut, and landed on a balanced 50/50 hybrid. The breeder lists ten awards, from first prizes for indoor hydro in Málaga in 2008 and 2009 to first indoor in Montevideo in 2016 and second outdoor in Naples in 2017.
The nose opens on citrus, then settles into the incense-like Haze note that Jack Herer fans will know, with wood, damp earth, pine and spice behind it. Growers add pepper and a faint bubblegum sweetness on the exhale.
The breeder describes a happy, energetic, clearly psychoactive high, and growers rate it strong and long-lasting. It plays as a daytime hybrid, with enough Domina underneath to keep the body settled.
Hybrid vigour is the selling point: the breeder rates it stable across set-ups, at home indoors and able to reach about three metres when planted in the ground under full sun. Growers describe a shorter, faster Jack Herer type that frosts early, packs on density from week five, is hungry for magnesium, and whose flavour keeps improving in the jar. Breeder yields are 500 to 600 g/m² indoors and 500 to 700 g a plant outdoors, with outdoor harvest in early October.
