Ganesh Spirit by Sweet Seeds

Few seeds in our catalogue trace back to a single clone carried down from the mountains of northern India, and Ganesh Spirit is one of them.

Sweet Seeds built this line, catalogue SWS13, from a sativa clone that came from the mountains of northern India, and kept a 60/40 sativa split while cutting flowering to around eight weeks. It took third indoor at the first Copa Cannabis in Uruguay in 2012 and first indoor at the sixth Copa del Mar in Mar del Plata, Argentina, in 2016. The breeder no longer lists it, so it has become a collector's strain.

The breeder describes a fruity, spicy nose and a flavour with hints of citrus over fresh, aniseed tones. One grower adds sweet and sour notes in flower, with a hint of freshly sawn wood.

Sweet Seeds calls it highly psychoactive yet balanced, with an imaginative, lucid and relaxing character, and it has been described as strong and energising. Growers on the more indica side report noticeable body effects, and it has a reputation as a mood lifter.

Two types turn up: a tall, stretchy sativa-leaning plant and a short, bushy indica-leaning one with many side shoots. The plant stays compact without losing crop, and finishes in about eight weeks indoors or early to mid October outdoors. Breeder yields are 400 to 600 g/m² indoors and 400 to 700 g a plant outdoors, with big, fragrant, resinous buds.

Sweet Seeds has bred from Valencia for more than 25 years and trademarks every name in its catalogue, Ganesh Spirit among them.
