Before Big Devil XL Auto picked up its trophies, there was this: the first Big Devil, catalogue number SWS15, and the plant the whole family grew from.
Sweet Seeds set out to make an autoflower with real height. The breeder keeps the parents private, describing only an indica and sativa hybrid fixed with a ruderalis, about 40% indica, 47.5% sativa and 12.5% ruderalis. It went on to father Big Devil #2 Auto, which in turn was crossed with an auto Jack Herer to make Big Devil XL Auto. The original is now discontinued at the breeder, which makes a sealed pack a genuine piece of autoflower history.
The breeder's description is incense and ripe fruit with a skunky backbone, and the taste follows the nose, lingering after the last pull according to one early grower.
Sweet Seeds lists the effect as creative and clearly psychoactive, and growers describe it as energetic and uplifting rather than heavy. That makes it a daytime auto by reputation, strong without knocking you flat.
The point of this strain is stature: the breeder gives 100 to 150 cm, with harvest around nine weeks from germination indoors or out. Buds are compact and resinous, and growers report chunky, sugar-coated colas with a decent bud to leaf ratio. Breeder yields run from 400 to 550 g/m² indoors and 40 to 250 g a plant outdoors.
