Znow Leopard by Ziplock Seeds

Near-black flowers the size of golf balls, smelling of fuel, tropical candy and dessert wine: Znow Leopard is one of the Black Panther crosses people tend to remember.

The mother is Znow Flakes, Shanoah's cross of Zoap with Frosted Flakes, which itself comes from Cereal Milk and White Truffle. The father is Black Panther, Ziplock's flagship male, made from Cookies' Cheetah Piss and a Watermelon Mimosa x Jealousy selection. The breeder says both parents have picked up awards abroad, and the cross pulls the cereal-and-truffle side of the family into the Panther line.

Growers describe fuel, tropical candy, dessert wine and sherbet on the nose, while the breeder's tasting notes add a tangy citrus snap to the dessert and gas.

Ziplock has not published an effects description for this release, and user reports are still few. At around 60% indica it sits on the heavier side of balanced, though that is a reading of the genetics, not a report from smokers.

The breeder credits the Frosted Flakes side with vigour, bag appeal and an ability to cope with a range of climates, which makes it one of the more forgiving choices for outdoor gardens. Buds stack dense and round and darken heavily as they ripen. Flowering runs 8 to 9 weeks, with a medium to high yield.

Ziplock Seeds is a one-man operation run by Shanoah in Southern Oregon, where years spent in Hawaii still colour his breeding.
