In Colombia a salpicón is chopped fruit served in its own juice, and Black Tuna chose the name with care: this plant smells like a bowl of it.

The team has its roots in the Santa Marta region, and its Native Line starts from a pink-pistil Colombian Gold crossed with Mazar-i-Sharif. For Salpicón the breeder brought in a jam-scented Grape Zkittlez selection, called Mermelada, to lay candied fruit over that old Colombian frame. The breeder rates it sativa-leaning, and it has since been taken to an F2 to push the grape terpenes further still.

Breeder notes describe mixed red fruit and sweet grape, and the finish turns to grape candy with a waxy, crayon-box depth underneath.

Black Tuna has not published effect notes, and grower reports are still thin on the ground. Its Colombian sativa heritage points to a brighter, daytime character, but that is family history rather than a breeder claim.

The breeder's description is of an unusually vigorous plant with mid-length internodes, broad fan leaves and large, dense buds. Flowering runs about 66 days, inside a nine to ten week window, and it is listed for indoor, outdoor and greenhouse growing. Yield is rated medium, and the breeder credits the line with good production and resistance.
