This one started with a chance find at Spannabis 2019 in Barcelona, where Black Tuna came across a Sherbert Shocker cut that was too good to leave behind.
Sherbert Shocker brings Sunset Sherbet together with Shocker, a line the breeder traces to Zkittlez and OG. The team wanted a sherb with more punch, so they crossed it with the Tropicanna Punch #61 behind their Trop Punch line to bring in citrus and grape.
The result smells, in the breeder's words, of sweet blueberries and ripe grapes, rounded out into a potpourri of red fruit. Peppery caryophyllene is the lead terpene on the breeder's list, a savoury counterweight to all that jam.
Black Tuna has not published an effect profile for Ocean Spray, and independent reports are still rare. Collectors pick it up for the Sherbet and Punch pedigree and for the story of how the cut was found.
It is a balanced hybrid, about half sativa and half indica, rated medium difficulty by the breeder and finishing in eight to nine weeks. It can be grown indoors, outdoors or in a greenhouse, and the breeder spec puts the harvest at medium to high.
