The scent of an orchard floor in autumn, sweet windfall apples just starting to turn, is what Perfect Tree set out to capture here.
Rotten Apple came out of the breeder's Jet A reversal project. Perfect Tree crossed its own selection of Lemon Butter Cream, an Alien Genetics line from Triangle Kush and Sour Apple IBL, with Jet A from the Exotic Genetix family. Triangle Kush and Jet A supply the fuel, and Sour Apple supplies the fruit.
Fermented apple, fresh cider and gas lead the nose, still sweet and clean rather than sour. Sweeter phenotypes lean into warm caramel and a flavour the breeder likens to apple cider syrup, and one grower picked up an espresso note on the finish.
Reports describe a quick onset and a balanced high that relaxes the body while keeping the mind lively, though at least one grower found it heavily indica, with real couch-lock. Keep it for the evening.
Plants stay short to medium, with tight internodes, sturdy side branches and a strong central cola, so they suit small tents. The breeder calls it easy to grow and says it shows only a few phenotypes, which makes finding a keeper realistic. Flowering takes about eight weeks indoors, with outdoor harvests at the start of October. Expect sticky, chunky buds, often with purple tones, and a high yield.
