Seven rounds of backcrossing went into this one, which is far more patience than most modern fruit crosses ever get.

Masonrie, the Nevada and California breeding group, took Forbidden Fruit, the Cherry Pie and Tangie hybrid prized for its tangerine nose, and crossed it with King Louis XIII OG, the Louis XIII cut of OG Kush. The line was then backcrossed to the seventh generation to lock the profile in place. The name nods to the Las Vegas half of the team.

The breeder describes a loud citrus and tangerine bouquet, and growers add fuel and gas underneath, which is the King Louis side showing through. Myrcene is reported as the leading terpene.

Masonrie has not published an effect profile. With a sativa-leaning build, a Tangie grandparent and an OG on the other side, expect a bright, upbeat head with some OG weight in the body, a good fit for the afternoon or early evening.

The breeder calls it easy to grow, even for newcomers, and flowering lands at around 63 to 70 days. Two kinds of plant turn up: a tall, stretchy, sativa-leaning type and a short, compact, indica-leaning type, both quick to finish. Indoor growers report airy buds and a modest crop, so this is a pack for flavour and selection rather than weight. Regular seeds, so males come with it.
