Fresh-baked biscuit, cream and a lick of liquorice: Gizzard Punch smells like a patisserie with something darker in the back room.
It is built on Wizard Punch, the breeder's cross of Purple Punch with Blissful Wizard, the Captain's Connection line that took first place in its category at the 2015 High Times Cannabis Cup in Los Angeles. That was crossed again with Girl Scout Glue, the house blend of Girl Scout Cookies and Gorilla Glue, which gives the plant Purple Punch fruit and a double dose of Cookies.
The breeder lists sweet, complex and spicy notes: biscuit fresh from the oven, cream, exotic fruit and liquorice.
The breeder describes an intense, relaxing effect through body and mind that lasts, with a dreamy edge. It is pitched for unwinding and rest, an evening strain by the breeder's own account.
This is a compact, sturdy plant with a thick central cola ringed by smaller ones, and the breeder rates it very productive: around 500 g/m² in a tent and about 700 g a plant outdoors. Flowers are conical, hard and resinous, with few leaves to trim, so finishing is quick work. Indoors it flowers in eight to nine weeks; outdoors it comes down in the first half of October.
