Ripe blueberries and a wedge of ripe cheese should not work together, yet this pairing has had UK noses twitching since the mid-2000s.

Blue Cheese was the Big Buddha cross of Blueberry and Cheese, credited with a first place at the High Times Cannabis Cup in Amsterdam in 2006. The Original Big Buddha Family Farms has now set that line on a ruderalis base, so it flowers on its own clock instead of waiting for the light to change. For a Cheese collector, it is the blue branch of the family in its quickest form.

The breeder's description calls it the signature taste of blueberries and cheese. Growers report a creamy, savoury tang with sweet, fresh berry over the top, and a smell that carries from late flower right through the drying jar.

The breeder says little about the effect of this auto, and we would rather not guess. Collectors chase it for the flavour line and the family name, and for a piece of UK seed history in a compact package.

Plants grow vigorously into a lollipop shape, with a main cola, few side branches and dense, frosty flowers that can turn purple and blue late in the cycle. The breeder lists roughly 65 to 85 days from seed to harvest and a decent yield, indoors or out, and suggests a light, airy medium.
