For years the only way into Afgooey was a cutting passed from grower to grower in Northern California. This pack holds that cut as seed.
Strain Hunters took the celebrated clone-only Afghan x Maui Haze, reversed it and crossed it back onto itself. Because the seed is an S1, it carries the cut's own genes rather than a fresh mix, and the breeder puts it at 70% indica to 30% sativa: an old Afghan hash core with a Hawaiian lift on top.
By the middle of flower the room fills with orange peel, lemon and ripe tropical fruit over a kushy base. The smoke opens earthy, like hash from the old Afghan trail, then turns sweeter and fruitier.
The breeder's description is blunt: very strong, quick to arrive, slow to leave, heady and creative to the point of chaos. It is reported as a lift for apathy and flat moods, and suits an experienced smoker with a free afternoon.
Plants stay short and bushy, with thick branches, dark leaves and internodes under 5 cm, which makes it a natural for sea of green or a screen. The breeder gives eight weeks of flower and up to 0.9 g per watt under a 1000W lamp, while outdoor plants reach 150 to 170 cm and finish around the last week of September in the north. Pear-shaped buds pack in tight, with big calyxes and very thick resin.
