Star Cake by Pheno Finder Seeds

Before it was Star Cake, this plant went by the name of a dark German herbal liqueur, a nod to the spiced kick that arrives just after the sweetness.

Pheno Finder Seeds took a chosen Layer Cake from Swamp Boys Seeds and crossed it with a reversed Starbud from Hortilab, picked out of seeds dating back to 2009. Pairing a modern dessert line with a Starbud selection from more than a decade earlier gives collectors a thread back to an older generation of breeding.

The breeder describes a sweet, cake-like flavour first, followed by a light peppery bite on the exhale that keeps it from tipping into sugar.

Breeder notes promise effects that arrive quickly: a happy, euphoric lift paired with easy relaxation in the body. On that description it reads as a sociable late-afternoon or early-evening hybrid rather than a knockout.
