Take the candy sweetness of Runtz, give it a strawberry OG backbone, and you get a dessert that still smells faintly of the fuel pump.
The Cali Connection made Red Berry Tartz by pollinating a Runtz mother with a reversed Strawberry OG, the house's own Bruce Banner and Tahoe OG creation. The brief was a better Runtz: the same confectionery profile, sweetened further, on a plant with much stronger bones. The name travels in several spellings, so collectors may also have seen it listed as Red Berry Tarte or Tarz.
Crack the jar and gas meets sharp citrus and red berries, with sweet hash underneath. The smoke tastes of sugared strawberry with a spiced, hashy edge, and the breeder says it stains the palate long after the last draw.
Users describe a quick, cheerful lift that settles into a light tingle spreading out from the limbs, then an easy calm and, often, a serious appetite. Reported medical uses centre on everyday stress and a flagging appetite, which makes it a common choice for the evening.
Growers find it straightforward. Expect a strong centre cola with good side branching, and the breeder advises topping and training to fill the plant out and push the harvest higher. Flowering runs 65 to 70 days indoors or out, and the exotic terpene mix makes it an obvious pick for extract makers.
