Spearmint, cracked pepper and pine is not what most people expect from an LA Confidential line, and that surprise is the reason to own this one.
The original ReCon began with a single LA Confidential plant dusted by an unknown male. It gave three seeds, and only one, nicknamed the Mutant, was worth keeping; the breeders then brought in Cannadential, their Cannalope Haze and LA Con hybrid, for its indica traits. That first version placed third outdoors at the 2010 Spannabis Champions Cup. ReCon 2.0 is DNA's revision of the classic, again joining LA Con to Cannadential.
Expect cool mint over pepper and pine on the nose, with an earthy, sweet fruit side that shows more in the smoke.
The breeder describes a deep, full-body relaxation, while growers note it varies plant to plant: some heavy, some lighter and easier, none edgy or paranoid. Users of the original line mention it for meditative calm and for easing aches.
Two phenotypes turn up, a short, compact indica type and a taller, stretchier plant, so keepers can be chosen to suit the space. DNA lists 8 to 9 weeks of flower and 450 to 500 g/m², indoors or out, and one grower who ran it to about 68 days praised the hard, dense buds and very low leaf.
