Pure Runtzy by T.H. Seeds

New-school candy bolted onto an old-school Afghan chassis.

T.H. Seeds worked through Runtz Mintz plants looking for one with real structure, heavy resin, a broad terpene spread and an aftertaste that lingers, then crossed their pick with Pure Afghani for backbone and resilience. Testers in soil and hydro around the world came back asking for more, and the breeder rates it as one of the best projects it has completed. Runtz, Gelatti, Kushmints and Pure Afghan 95 all sit in its family tree.

Fruit and gas in equal measure: Skittles, ripe peach and a creamy gelato note over a fuel base, with terpenes that cling to the palate.

The breeder describes it as intense, enjoyable and deeply relaxing. Growers report that it lands in the head first and then melts down through the body, making it an afternoon or evening pick.

Medium to tall and not too leafy, it builds strong branches into a broad Christmas tree with good internode spacing. Stretch runs up to two or three times, more in coco and hydro than in soil, so the breeder suggests topping once or twice and then letting it grow. Plan for 8 to 9 weeks of flower, 120 to 160 cm and 550 to 650 g per square metre of dense, colourful, trichome-heavy buds that trim easily and make good hash.

T.H. Seeds has bred in Amsterdam since 1993, and its best-known lines include S.A.G.E. and MK-Ultra.
