Lime zest, pine tar and black pepper: it smells exactly as bright and slightly wild as the name promises.
Barney's Farm took a Hawaiian sativa by Afghan indica hybrid and crossed it with Shiva Skunk, chasing Afghani strength carried on a lighter, sweeter sativa effect. It is an old-school three-way hybrid from the house's early catalogue and no longer appears on the breeder's current list, which makes a sealed pack a genuine piece of Barney's history.
Breeder notes and smokers' reports agree on lime, pine and a dark, tarry pepper. On the exhale come quieter hints of mango and sandalwood, with the spice lingering longest.
As the name suggests, this is a wake-up smoke. Users describe energetic, creative and light-headed effects with a faintly psychedelic edge, and most often mention it for daytime stress, with some also citing everyday aches.
The breeder calls the plant powerful, compact and full of resin, with very large buds stacked along long stems that make for fat, sticky colas. Flowering takes 8 to 10 weeks by the breeder's figures, for 350 to 450 g/m², and outdoors it finishes between September and October. It is listed for both indoor and outdoor growing, and the breeder gives a height of up to about 200 cm, so it needs headroom. Growers note that tolerance to it builds slowly.
