A breakfast plate in bud form: pancakes stacked with berries and syrup, then a cool breath of mint.
London Mint Cake is the newest member of what T.H. Seeds calls its Royal Family. The breeder joined two modern blue bloods, London Pound Cake from Cookies and Kush Mints from Seed Junky, then folded in Pure Afghani for an old-world backbone. It has since fathered a line of its own, London Bubbly.
The breeder says it tastes the way it smells, and growers agree: pancake batter, maple syrup and dark berry, cooled by a minty edge. One grower who ran ten seeds found most leaned towards a blueberry pancake expression, with sherbet and cake notes in the rest.
The breeder lists the effect as creative, euphoric, happy and relaxed. Growers describe it as strong and long-lasting, slow to build tolerance.
It does not stretch much, but it grows wide like a Christmas tree, with plenty of branches, good spacing between nodes and few leaves around the flowers. Height runs 120 to 170 cm, flowering 8 to 9 weeks and yield 550 to 700 g per square metre, all breeder figures. The buds are colourful, dense and Big Ben sized, frosted with bell-shaped trichome heads that suit solventless hash. The breeder reports strong resistance to powdery mildew and mould, prefers it grown out naturally, and advises a slow dry of two weeks or more to keep the terpenes.
