Bred to make you grin, this is a Thai sativa with Jamaican sunshine folded in, and it keeps the long, spicy finish of the old Southeast Asian lines.
Barney's Farm built it by crossing the house's pure landrace Thai with a Jamaican hybrid, landing at roughly 80 per cent sativa. It is one of the older sativas still on the breeder's list, and the name is a fair description of the mood it sets.
The jar opens on sweet exotic fruit. Smoked, it turns savoury and bright at once: roasted red pepper over pineapple, lemon peel and a green, herbal edge.
The breeder describes a giggly, sociable lift that arrives quickly and keeps the mind busy and creative. Growers call it a daytime and party smoke, with enough body weight late on that it never feels thin.
This is a tall, fast plant that stretches hard once it flowers: breeder figures give 100 to 110 cm indoors and 120 to 150 cm outside, with long, tight colas that frost up close to white. Flowering runs 70 to 75 days by the breeder's count, for up to 500 to 600 g/m² indoors or up to 800 g a plant outdoors, harvested in the third or fourth week of October. The breeder notes the heavy buds want support through the last three weeks, and growers often bend and tie the stems to keep the stretch in check.
