Kalashnikova by Green House Seed Co.

The name tips its hat to AK-47, one of its parents; the other is White Widow, so two names that travelled the world share one feminised seed.

Green House set out to join the AK-47's structure and calyx stacking to White Widow's resin, and the result is a branchy, indica-leaning plant that piles on frost. It has since gone on to spawn an autoflowering version of its own.

Growers describe lemon and musk with a woody sandalwood note on the nose, and a taste that moves from lemon to hash and back to sandalwood.

The breeder calls the effect social and psychoactive, a clear and long-lasting high over a strong indica body. Medical users report it for appetite and pain.

Expect vigorous, bushy growth on strong, short-jointed stems with long, thin, dark green leaves, so give it room to spread. Buds come in big and compact, lime green under a heavy coat of white trichomes, and the breeder suits it to sea of green or a screen. Indoors it can finish in eight weeks with breeder figures up to 750 g/m²; outdoors it stays under 2 metres and comes in at the end of September, at more than 1 kg a plant. The breeder advises a moderate feed in bloom, and growers warn that dense buds need good airflow to stay clear of mould.

Green House Seed Co. was co-founded in Amsterdam in 1994 by Arjan Roskam and Scott Blakey, and also runs coffeeshops in the city.
