Self a famous mother and you find out exactly what she is made of: Doppler is Mendo Breath pollinated by Mendo Breath.
Paradise Seeds made this S1 for its Mendo Breath collection, chasing a compact Californian indica that comes true from seed. Selfed lines usually give up a little hybrid vigour, and the breeder says so plainly. The reward is uniformity, with the mother's dominant traits showing plant after plant, which is what a collector wants from a well-loved cut.
Sweetness arrives early in flower and keeps building to harvest, with a faint skunk edge underneath. Growers describe the dried flower as candied over an earthy base.
The breeder calls the effect quick and heavy: a deep physical calm that suits late evenings and the run-up to sleep, with a soft lift in mood at the start. Medical users report reaching for it for relaxation, appetite and end-of-day aches.
In the garden it stays short and squat, under 80 cm, with very little stretch, so it suits small tents. Leaves and buds turn deep purple against orange pistils, and frost builds from around week four or five. The breeder suggests topping and clearing lower branches, and keeping humidity down late in flower, because the chunky colas are dense enough to hold moisture outdoors. Most plants finish in about 50 to 55 days.
