Tennessee meets the Basque Country in Critical Hog, a cross its breeder describes as a commercial grower's dream.
One parent is The HOG, T.H. Seeds' heavy Tennessee indica and a former High Times Cannabis Cup winner in the indica category. The other is Critical Mass, a Basque favourite with wins at Spanish cannabis competitions. Put together, they make a mostly indica plant built for weight and speed.
The breeder describes a pungent, sweet and fruity flavour. Growers talk less about the smell than the resin, which coats the buds in a thick layer.
The effect is relaxed, happy and uplifting by the breeder's account, and one grower simply calls it potent. The breeder's notes list sleeplessness, poor appetite, stress and aches among the reasons medical users choose it.
Very easy to grow and quick to finish, it is ready in about 55 days for 350 to 550 g per square metre on the breeder's figures, with plants standing 120 to 160 cm. The buds are huge, so the breeder stresses good ventilation indoors and shelter from heavy late-season rain outside. Growers repeat the warning about mould and report that it responds well to topping and trims easily.
