Cataract Kush by DNA Genetics

Dried and jarred, Cataract Kush buds carry a frost so heavy that they look almost grey-black.

DNA Genetics spent years on this cross of two West Coast heavyweights, LA Confidential and OG Kush, before letting it go. The finished flower has the OG's shape with LA Con's density, and it later became a parent of the house's Cataract Cake. For collectors it is one of DNA's straight indica originals.

LA Confidential leads the taste, smooth and piney, with OG Kush's fuel arriving on the exhale. A few growers mention an unexpected note of coconut on the nose.

This is a creeper: the breeder says the effect keeps building after you put it down, and growers describe it settling into a heavy, sleepy calm that lasts. Medical users report it for evening pain, poor appetite and trouble sleeping, and DNA does not recommend it for light smokers.

The breeder promises above-average harvests of hard, compact buds and says novice and experienced growers alike can get there. Flowering takes 8 to 9 weeks by the breeder's description, with yields of 350 to 500 g/m² indoors. Plants vary more than the indica label suggests, some short and squat, others taller and stretchier, and it is happy indoors or out.
