Auto Strawberry Banana by DNA Genetics

The cup-winning Strawberry Banana, rebuilt to flower on its own schedule.

The original came from DNA Genetics working with Serious Seeds, crossing Crockett's Banana Kush with the strawberry phenotype of Bubble Gum. The breeder bills that photoperiod plant as a multiple Cannabis Cup winner, and later added ruderalis to give its Strawnana line an autoflowering form for growers who want the flavour without the long wait.

Ripe strawberry and banana lead, wrapped in a tropical, woody note. Growers of the photoperiod version also pick up bubblegum and a hint of fuel as the buds mature, and the same family traits show here.

The breeder describes a euphoric, creative opening that gives way to a calm, heavy body stone. For most people this is one for the evening.

The breeder points to a compact frame and easy adaptability as the reasons it grows without fuss, and asks for moderate feeding rather than a heavy hand with nutrients. The full cycle runs about 70 to 80 days from seed. Indoor yields reach up to 600 g/m² in strong conditions, while outdoor plants give around 28 to 40 g each.

DNA Genetics was founded by Don and Aaron, two Los Angeles breeders who moved to Amsterdam in the early 2000s and entered the High Times Seedbank Hall of Fame in 2009.
