Auto Red Velvet by Paradise Seeds

Red and purple flowers, a cherry and cinnamon nose, and a plant shaped like a chandelier.

Paradise started with Lemon Cherry Gelato for citrus, cherry fruit, frost and red colour, then added Piña Açaí for a tropical, spicy layer. Its own Auto Kong #4 adds automatic flowering and extra resin.

Myrcene and limonene give lemon, sweet cherry and a touch of earth in flower, while caryophyllene adds a cinnamon warmth that grows louder once the buds are dried. Growers call the smell strong and distinctive with a gassy edge, and the smoke creamy, sweet and lightly spiced.

It hits brighter than the indica lean suggests: the breeder describes a focused, clear high suited to daytime projects and good company. Growers report a happy, giggly, social mood with no racing heart and a reliable case of the munchies, and some users reach for it to take the edge off a tense day.

One fat central cola is ringed by smaller buds shaped like chunky pine cones, and the breeder notes two phenotypes, one deep purple and one greener. It grows fast and stretches to 1.2 to 1.5 m indoors, so the breeder advises a single topping in veg rather than heavy pruning; growers report it takes well to a scrog net. Allow 10 weeks or more from seed for 400 to 450 g/m² indoors or 100 to 125 g a plant outdoors, with some natural mould resistance.

Bred by Paradise Seeds, the Amsterdam house Luc Krol set up in 1994 and still one of the few seed companies owned by its breeder.
