Auto Fast Bud by Sweet Seeds

Seven and a half weeks from seed to harvest was a bold promise when Sweet Seeds first catalogued Fast Bud Auto as SWS16.

The breeder never published the full cross, saying only that its exotic notes come from the Diesel family, and strain databases point to an NYC Diesel line fixed with a ruderalis. The split sits at roughly 40% indica, 35% sativa and 25% ruderalis, a heavy ruderalis share that explains the pace. It later became the parent of Fast Bud #2 Auto, which won the autoflowering prize at the first Nature Grow cup in Barcelona in 2011. The original is now discontinued at the breeder.

Expect berries and sweet fruit over a stranger, exotic edge. One early grower described the smell as peanut butter and jelly, which is about as specific as cannabis notes get.

Sweet Seeds calls the effect relaxing and strong for its size. Growers lean the same way, reporting a calming, sleepy finish of moderate strength, more evening smoke than wake and bake.

Plants stay small, at 40 to 90 cm, and the breeder rates production as excellent for an auto, with big buds under plenty of aromatic resin. One grower ran two clear types: a compact, dark, frosty indica-leaning plant with tight buds, and a sativa-leaning sister about twice the height with more branches and airier flowers. Breeder yields are 400 to 500 g/m² indoors and 20 to 60 g a plant outdoors.

From Valencia, Sweet Seeds has spent more than 25 years building its catalogue, and it counts itself among the pioneers of feminised seed.
